Potassium Chloride is one three compounds that is used for the lethal injection that is administered to people on Death Row. It is a concentrated solution of KCL, but the correct (high dosage) amount is injected into the body. The potassium chloride, while at normal doses helps to serve the function of muscle and heart cells, this lethal dose changes the electrical signal that also keeps the heart going and therefore induces cardiac arrest.
